Discription: The aim of this course is to explore how education can contribute to building a world that is more sustainable and equitable.
The course consists of micro-training sessions, specifically designed to provide the participants with comprehensive knowledge about Sustainability and its implications in Teaching and Learning. Participants will learn how to create and implement activities in the school classroom, as well as how to shift their students’ mindset towards taking action so that future generations can aim for environmental integrity, economic viability and cultural diversity.
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Identify attributes that can be strengthened though ESD content and pedagogy
- Be able to set objectives and design educational programmes for sustainable development
- Be aware of and engage in some examples of sustainability pedagogies
- Increase their ability to manage school settings confidently and independently, maintaining sustainability
- Recognise opportunities for embedding sustainability pedagogies within their own practice
- Be able to cultivate values, critical thinking and cooperation through innovative teaching styles
- Discuss and exchange of ideas in a cross- cultural environment
- Increase capacity to cooperate on an international level
- Improve communication & social skills and cultural diversity
- Improve English language skills
