Project Description

The “EU Resilient Minds: Building Resilience in Unemployed Adults through Emotional Management” project addresses an unmet need within the guidance and employment integration systems for adults in
the European Union (EU): the promotion of mental health and emotional wellbeing during the active job-seeking process.
While there are multiple programmes and intervention models aimed at facilitating access to the labour market for adults at risk of, or experiencing, social exclusion, no validated models exist within the EU that address the psychological challenges
faced by these groups during these processes. With this in mind, the EU-MINDS project has been designed to achieve its primary objectives.
General Objective: “To promote the mental health and emotional wellbeing of unemployed individuals in the European Union
who are facing situations of particular vulnerability or social exclusion risk.”

Specific Objectives (S.O.):
● S.O.1: To broaden understanding of the main mental health issues associated with long-term unemployment, as well as the best intervention models within the EU.
● S.O.2: To promote innovative educational resources for employment guidance professionals working with unemployed individuals, facilitating improved psychosocial support and the application of emotional regulation techniques.
● S.O.3: To develop innovative educational resources for unemployed adults, aimed at promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing throughout the employment guidance process.
● S.O.4: To train employment guidance professionals working with unemployed adults in innovative models for preventing, identifying, and intervening in mental health and emotional wellbeing issues.

Impact

The project aims to provide unemployed individuals and employment professionals with tools to better manage the psycho-
emotional issues arising from unemployment. Through a evaluation questionnaire, all partner organisations conducted an
initial needs analysis with the unemployed people they work with, as well as with employment guidance professionals. The
findings of the analysis highlighted the lack of resources available to unemployed individuals in the areas of mental health,
emotional management, stress management, and coping strategies for long-term unemployment.

The Hive 's Role

THE HIVE plays a leading role in the development of the EU-MIND web platform, which will serve as a repository for the project’s theoretical and practical content. It is responsible for designing the platform’s structure, including user profiles and modules aligned with the EU-MIND Guide. THE HIVE also adapts the Guide’s content for the platform by integrating theoretical information, exercises, and self-assessments. After the pilot phase, it will implement necessary improvements based on feedback. Additionally, THE HIVE coordinates the translation process, ensuring the platform is available in multiple languages with the support of partner organizations.
